Kanyemba is a wonderful family getaway in the Lower Zambezi, only two and a half hours from the capital city of Lusaka.

This itinerary will offer the unique safari experience with amazing activities such as boat cruise, the unique canoeing safari, village tour, game drives in search of four of the big five.
Some of the activities are seasonal as lower Zambezi national park is best for water-based activities.
Explore the African bush up-close and personal, a unique experience that vehicle-only safaris are unable to deliver. Our walks focus on the island's vegetation, tracks, and other evidence of life. Insects and birds are plentiful, but animals such as bushbucks, waterbuck, and even elephants might be seen while walking.
A Zambezi cruise is a spectacular experience for those who wish to enjoy the bush from the water. The sunset cruise, in particular, offers an opportunity to capture the abundant wildlife, with bushbuck on the watch for predators, elephants playing in the water, and lions sunning themselves on the riverbanks.
Try angling on the Zambezi River in one of our fishing boats to try your luck (and, of course, skill) at catching the elusive Tiger Fish. Anglers can also look for a variety of other species such as a bream, vundu, nkupi, and a variety of other tropical fish.
Visitors who want to experience a rural Zambian community can visit Makanya Village. You will be introduced to the village's residents and facilities. On the way back to the lodge, the village walk is often coupled with a brief sunset cruise or a visit to the banana farm.
The Zambezi canoeing safari will take you down the river’s remote channels, flanked by national parks on both sides. Hippos are always in sight and elephants, zebras, puku, impala, buffalo, waterbuck, baboons, and crocodiles can all be seen.
We provide full day game drives in our open-top vehicle, exploring loops in the national park to catch sightings of the big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard), as well as a variety of herbivores and birds.

Assuming you arrive off your international flight at Lusaka airport, you will be met by our representative who will then assist you with your luggage and transfer you to Kanyemba Lodge.
After afternoon tea, you will go out for the afternoon activity which can be a boating or sunset cruise and return to the lodge for dinner.

In the morning depart for the Exploration of the Lower Zambezi National Park with our expert guides.
Kanyemba Lodge is located around 45km outside Lower Zambezi National Park; hence we offer full day game drives for guests who stay with us for a minimum of 3 nights. We depart the lodge early morning for a boat ride downstream to the base camp of Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ), where you will transfer to our open top game drive vehicle.
The full day is spent in the National Park, exploring loops to see if we can find 4 of the big 5 (elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard), as well as a variety of herbivores and birds. After a picnic lunch, you will meander your way back towards CLZ to transfer back to the boat for the trip back to the lodge.

My husband and I were on a 10-day trip to Zambia organized perfectly by Absolute Zambia Safaris.
We visited the lower Zambezi national park, South Luanga Park and Victoria Falls. The entire Iterinary along with flights and road transport whenever needed well planned as according to our requirement. Would recommend their guidance for anyone looking for a wonderful holiday in Zambia.
Fantastic planning and arranging of this trip by Robert of Absolute Zambia Safaris — everything was perfect from start to finish. We were picked up on time for all activities, the hotel was great — good food, nice pool, wifi, etc and good location, the white water rafting was great, Angel Pool was very much enjoyed by everyone and the sunset cruise was almost empty — so we had the entire upper deck of the boat to ourselves. The food on the boat was tremendous, and the sunset magnificent. Everyone said this was possibly the best holiday ever. We are very grateful to Absolute Zambia whose flawless organising of all of this made it happen.
Absolute Zambia Safaris organised a 2 week trip in Zambia for us — to South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and Livingstone. All bookings can be re-booked like-for-like at no cost for new departure dates up to 15 months ahead. We can assist with private PCR testing as required for your return journeys.
